Vernal PD shared the following: On June 28th, a vehicle driven by Ty James Nez was traveling East on Main Street when the vehicle traveled off the Southside of the roadway striking a power pole and the building located at 716 East Main.
The Duchesne County School District issued a press release on Monday stating that they plan for students to come back to classrooms for in-person instruction for the 2020-2021 school year.
Uintah School District has announced that they are busy working on the school reopening plan for the 2020 -2021 school year. A draft of the plan will be presented to the Uintah School Board for their consideration and approval during their July 8th meeting.

Fire crews from Dinosaur National Monument and the BLM responded to four lightning caused fires on Friday after a storm moved across the area on Thursday evening. According to Dinosaur National Monument, the largest fire is the Split Fire, located in a remote and rocky area at 7000 feet elevation on the north side of Split Mountain.
Uintah County issued the following statement on the closure of the City of Fun Carnival after its opening on Thursday: “City of Fun Carnival contacted Western Park in Vernal on June 11th to find out if the facility was available and interested in hosting the carnival this year.

The Craig Police Department issued a press release on Wednesday with details of two recent drug arrests in Craig. “Early on the morning of June 21st, Officer Mendoza of the Craig Police Department stopped a motorcycle in the 600 block of Legion in Craig for fictitious license plates.
