Labor Day Accident Near Sand Dunes
A tragic accident resulted in serious injury of one boy on Monday near the sand dunes off SR-45. According to the Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, a family was recreating in the area when a 4-year-old member of the party reached under a vehicle to grab something and another family member accidentally reversed the vehicle over the child.
2 Seater Plane Crashes in Uintah County, No Injuries
Things took a turn for the worse last Saturday during a morning flight of a small two seater airplane in Uintah County. According to Uintah County Sheriff’s Office, law enforcement and emergency services were dispatched to a field located at 850 East 1500 North just after 11:00am on September 3rd.

Utah Roadways Prove Less Deadly during 100 Deadliest Days of Summer
Utah Highway Patrol is happy to report that the number of fatalities on Utah roadways during this summer’s 100 Deadliest Days has gone down from 2015. Last year, UHP reported 100 deaths prior to the Labor Day holiday and this year that number dropped to 88 deaths.
New Season for Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus
Under the baton of guest conductor Dr. Anthony Maiello, the Uintah Basin Orchestra and Chorus will warm hearts this December for the new season of the organization and plans are already well underway. Dr. Maiello is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the American Festival Pops Orchestra in Washington, D.C. who conducts on a world stage and is also known for his own musical compositions.
Randall Flatlip Facing New Charges Related to Child Pornography
One of the men charged with the rape of a 9-year-old Uintah County girl has new charges filed against him related to child pornography. 26-year-old Randall Flatlip has 74 new charges of 2nd Degree Felony Sexual Exploitation of a Minor filed against him on August 30th.
