UBATC Students Compete at National Skills USA

UBATC students with technical skills represented the Basin well at the National SkillsUSA competition in Louisville, Kentucky. All UBATC representatives placed at the national competition among stiff competition. Chandler Vincent placed 5th in Welding, Levi Lewis placed 9th in Diesel Mechanics, Sherwood Cuch placed 40th in Culinary Arts and the UBATC team of nursing students took 4th place in the Health Knowledge Bowl. “They represented UBATC and the state of Utah very well,” shares UBATC Vice President Tammy Wilkerson.

Deer Management Open House

Power Upgrade to Duchesne County Fairgrounds

The Duchesne County Fair is right around the corner and the Duchesne County Commission is doing their part to ensure the fairgrounds are up and ready to go. In July, Building and Grounds Director Shane Jenkins explained to the Commission that there is a 200 amp service at the fairgrounds and he presented a bid from Mike Frandsen in the amount of $6,905 dollars to upgrade the power.

Outlaw ATV Jamboree Success

The Outlaw ATV Jamboree is being considered a great success. Over 100 vehicles were registered and over double that many participants attended the 3-day event over the weekend in Uintah County. According to Uintah County Travel and Tourism Director Lesha Coltharp, this was the first year of an event with a bright future.
