KNEU 1250Ashley National Forest has the following message for the community: Although it seems like spring, the mountains do not yet agree. Snow will still limit travel for the near future at our higher elevations. Due to the last windstorm we have many trees across roadways on the forest that will need to be removed before the roads can be opened.
Uintah School District shares that Uintah High Director of Instrumental Music Brian Gibson has received the results from the Region Instrumental Solo and Ensemble Festival. The festival was held virtually this year with musicians submitting recordings of their performances.
Terra Academy will have a new director for the 2021-2022 school year. The school recently made the announcement in a press release sharing that the Terra Academy Governing Board accepted Director Cassie Hay’s resignation with a heavy heart this winter [and] after undergoing an extensive search for a new director, the board is pleased to announce that Dr. Dean Wilson will begin his tenure as Executive Director in the 2021-2022 school year.

Less than a year ago, ‘Lanny the Dinosaur’ made the roadside park near the Naples City Offices his home, expecting that he would enjoy a long life of greeting travelers on Highway 40. Tragically, Lanny’s hope was cut short after being hit by a suspected DUI driver on the early morning of April 1st. His beautiful but broken triceratops self had to be hauled away and it is unclear if repairs can be performed to allow for Lanny’s return.
Mike Gledhill, Uintah Basin Narcotic Strike Force Commander, issued a press release Thursday sharing that: On March 12th, 2021, Basin Narcotic and DEA Agents conducted a joint operation involving a residence in the Vernal area that was suspected of dealing illegal narcotics.
TriCounty Health Department announced that the Transmission Index levels of local counties remained the same from the week before with Uintah and Duchesne County staying at the Moderate Level and Daggett County staying at the Low Level. According to Thursday’s press release, Uintah County’s 7-day average percent positivity was 5 percent and there were 57 cases in the past 14 days.

Using simple bomb equipment and technology, Sweetwater County (Wyoming) law enforcement and bomb squad hosted a successful Easter egg hunt for a visually impaired child. The eggs were literally wired causing them to beep in order to be found.
