Vernal Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a wanted man. The Vernal PD post on Facebook states that they are seeking the whereabouts of 25-year-old Joseph King. King is wanted on several warrants for his arrest and recent criminal activity.
COVID-19 Vaccinations Administered to Duchesne County School District Staff
COVID-19 vaccinations began to be distributed to staff within Duchesne County School District on Monday. Uintah Basin Healthcare issued a press release sharing that they have been following the COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution plan and are now able to use the excess supply of 170 doses from their first Moderna vaccine shipment to begin vaccinating staff from Duchesne County School District.

Utah Wildlife Board Approves Changes to Black Bear Management Plan
The Black Bear hunting season and permit numbers are on a three-year recommendation cycle that started in 2019 following a Utah Wildlife Board meeting. This being the case, there were no changes to the hunting season dates or permit numbers, rather the Board made updates to the management plan so it complies with legislative changes that were approved in 2020.

Uintah School District shared on Friday afternoon that they had eight active cases of COVID-19 district wide since classes resumed on Monday. Their announcement stated that it is important to remember that these cases represent only individuals who were in a school or other district building while they were symptomatic or considered contagious.
