Fire Burns Over 900 Acres East of Jensen
A brush fire has burned over 900 acres between Jensen and the Utah-Colorado border as of Tuesday night. The closest structures to the fire are located in Jensen but none were considered in danger.

Fishing with the Fox Adding Adventure to Family Fun Time
Fish are being caught, tags are being turned in, and prizes are being doled out. Fishing with the Fox and the Division of Wildlife Resources are incentivizing family fishing this summer. Over 400 fish have been tagged in Pelican Lake alone while over a hundred more are tagged in Moose Pond and the lower Stillwater Pier Pond.

Lady Utes Softball Take Second in State
The Lady Utes Softball team finished off their season with a 2nd place finish at state. The 4A state championship took place last week at the Salt Lake Valley Softball Complex in Taylorsville. The Lady Utes fought hard and found themselves in the championship match with the Spanish Fork lady Dons.
Three Vernal Men Missing
Vernal City Police are hoping the public can help in finding three men that have been missing for over a week. According to Vernal City Police, 29-year-old Jacob Douglas Tilt, 33-year-old Robert Alan Spoon, and 33-year-old Jason Ralph Tilt were reported missing on Friday, May 26th and they had last been seen Monday evening, May 22nd.
Duchesne Man Killed in Fatal Highway 40 Crash
A tragic car crash on Highway 40 near Park City took the life of a Duchesne man just after midnight on Friday night. According to Utah Highway Patrol, a 2014 Kenworth semi truck hauling double tankers was traveling west on SR-40 near mile post 6 in the right lane.
Delays to Kick in on Highway 40 Construction
Travel delays are about to begin on the Highway 40 widening project in Duchesne County. UDOT crews are working to widen the road to five lanes from 6250 South in Myton to Pole Line Road in Roosevelt.

The Ute Tribe is part of a joint effort of tribes supporting the Bears Ears National Monument. After U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke visited Utah following President Trump’s executive order to review national monuments, a 15-day comment period was opened for the Bear Ears National Monument.
