Remembering Fallen Hero Detective Kevin Orr After 10 Years
“It was his duty to serve. It is our duty to remember.” Nearly 10 years ago, the life of a local hero was lost during a Search and Rescue operation. Uintah County Sheriff’s Detective Kevin Orr was killed in a helicopter crash while coordinating a search effort from the air.

Jury Trial Scheduled for Solis
A Vernal man facing charges including child sexual abuse has been scheduled for a jury trial. 31-year-old Jose Luis Solis pleaded Not Guilty to one count of 1st Degree Felony Aggravated Sexual Abuse of a Child and six other charges for incidents that occurred in Vernal City earlier this year.
Roosevelt Industrial Park Getting Facelift
Work is underway on road improvements in Roosevelt City’s industrial park on the west side of town. According to Roosevelt City Manager Ryan Snow, Mountainland Road and the surrounding streets were paved this week as part of the upgrade effort.
