The new tagline is “Rise & Thrive.”

The Bureau of Land Management Vernal Field Office has released its final Environmental Impact Statement for the proposed Enefit American Oil Utility Corridor project located about 40 miles south of Vernal.

After several years of construction, the Vernal Regional Airport runway project is now in its final steps which will close the runway for several days next week. According to airport manager Doug Brown, the final steps of the runway construction process is to seal, coat, and paint the runway with the permanent coat.
Roosevelt City is now accepting public comments on the proposed 2018-2019 fiscal year budget. The May Roosevelt City Bulletin reports that “highlights from the proposed budget include an anticipated revenue increase of 2.5 percent in most funds, with an anticipated expenditure increase of 1.5 percent.
The Uintah County Commission approved a Resolution Monday authorizing the County to apply for a USDA grant. “We are applying for a USDA Rural Economic Development Grant,” shares Economic Development Director Sylvia Wilkins. “It will be for a feasibility study for a Corn Roller Mill. This study will look at production in the area, if there is a need for this type of facility, locations for a facility, and cost and size.”
The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the help of the public as they try to identify a person of interest caught on a game camera. According to the Sheriff’s Office, a cabin was burglarized in the Uintah Canyon area of Duchesne County on May 4th.
The Bureau of Land Management announced Tuesday their plans to conduct a graffiti removal project in Dry Fork Canyon at the end of this month. According to the BLM announcement, multiple reports of graffiti at the first trailhead for the popular Flume trail in Dry Fork Canyon came in on April 30th.
