Director of the USU Bingham Research Center Seth Lyman explains that the alert system was designed to inform the oil and gas industry if there is poor air quality in order to make adjustments, but that all community members are welcome to sign up.
Vernal City Finance Director Mike Davis made a presentation this month to the Vernal City Council on the current budget status and outlook. According to Davis, the general fund for Vernal City is approximately $9 million dollars and the utility fund is approximately $5 million dollars.
