KNEU 1250High fire danger has prompted fire restrictions for eastern Utah. As of Friday, June 26th, all State, BLM, and National Park Service lands in Uintah, Duchesne and Daggett County are placed under restrictions. Dinosaur National Monument is also included.
The FBI is investigating a possible murder that took place on the Uintah-Ouray Indian Reservation on June 20th. According to FBI representative Sandra Yi Barker, 19-year-old Deland Anston Cornpeach was arrested and is being held in the Duchesne County Jail for the Bureau of Indian Affairs as part of the homicide investigation.

The bodies recovered inside a pickup truck from the Green River on Wednesday are believed to be the three Vernal men who went missing on May 22nd. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office issued a release stating that the search for Robert Spoon, Jason Tilt and Jacob Tilt had continued on Wednesday with the search of a targeted area of the Green River in Jensen and that a vehicle matching that of the missing persons was located and pulled from the river at about 11:30am.
